Handel's Messiah... at Easter?

Messiah, the great oratorio by George Frideric Handel, is a work that stands above and beyond any other in the history of music. Composed in 1741, no other work has captured the hearts and imaginations of so many people, from so many backgrounds, and for so many generations. Messiah was originally intended for and performed during Lent, and only after Handel’s lifetime has it become associated with the celebration of Christmas.

We are thrilled to have Arcady return for a second year. This is a performance you won't regret attending!

About Arcady

The work will be directed by renowned conductor, Ronald Beckett. Arcady specializes in the performance of this great choral piece, as most of the ensemble’s work is dedicated to period performances of early music and the works of Ronald Beckett. Arcady’s critically acclaimed album entitled A Baroque Messiah has been reissued twice. For more information, please visit www.arcady.ca

"I think I have just heard the best performance of Handel's Messiah ever to whisk past my ears."
